Taking your MORE to the next level

Let’s put practical steps that you can go back to on a weekly basis to determine how you are going to get to your More.

There are two things I want to discuss with you:

  1. The structure, this is exceptionally important getting the goal achieved.
  2. Why people achieve their goals and why some don’t.

The structure? The very first thing you need is to know your goal. Example: My more is to:

  • Increase my business by 30%.
  • Improve my relationship with my partner.
  • Create a bigger friendship group.
  • Be emotionally in control.

Decide what your more is and write it down.

Then put that statement in different places around you.

The next thing you need to do is pinpoint the smaller goals. These smaller steps need to happen for you to achieve your goal. Let’s use the example increase by business my 30%.

What needs to happen in order for me to do that?

  1. I need to fix my budget.
  2. I need to have a better marketing plan.
  3. I need to hire an accountant.

What are the steps? They’re called milestones. These are small measurable steps that you need to do in order to achieve your goal. Another example:

I need to control my emotions. Milestones is going to be:

  • Understand why I get emotional.
  • Spend time understanding my ups and downs.
  • Find professional help.
  • Start doing additional research.

The important part of this formula is you’re basing your weekly action on milestones, not on your main goal. Your main goal can be overwhelming.

I’m going to give you an example. I want to increase my business by 30%. How am I going to increase my business? What action do I need to do right now to increase my business by 30%?

You going to get a brain wobble. But if I ask you,

What are you doing about your budget this week? I should create a spreadsheet. Or

What are you doing about your marketing? I really need to find a marketing person.

By basing your action on the milestones, you simplify your goal, and it becomes manageable.

Why do some people achieve their goals and others don’t?

I want you to consider the word WHY.

Why do you want to increase your business by 30%? Why do you want to fix your emotional state? Why do you want to fix your relationship with your partner?

If you invest in the why, that makes perfect sense. And therefore, you are willing to do the hard work.

What’s going to get you up at five o’clock in the morning, when it’s cold, raining, for you to achieve your physical goal of losing weight? The why is going to get you up.

Let’s think for a moment what is your why?

The why is because I want more life. Because I want to live my full life to the best of my ability. Because I want to plunge forward lovingly, embracingly, abundantly. I want to live a full life. And how am I going to get that right? Fixing my emotional state. Increasing my business by 30% because then I’ll have the financial independence I need. Fixing my relationship with my partner because we are meant to live a life of more. Think of your why.

My why is directly related to living a life of more. More of life. And you can determine what that is.

More of life.
