Most Common principles I discuss as a coach

The common things that I’ve experienced as a coach.

1. Adults have forgotten to have fun.

In fact, I’m going to go so far as to say that we don’t know how to have fun anymore.

We have forgotten what make us happy. Accept a challenge.

Write down 50 things that make you Happy, yes 5-0, things that make you happy.

They don’t have to be massive things, they can be small things, like one of the things I established when I did the exercise is that a full tank of petrol makes me happy. It makes me feel as if I am free. It doesn’t have to be a big thing that makes you happy.

2: We lack the ability to take a risk. Do something that excites you. It must not be something that puts your life in danger. It’s something fun that excites you. A mindful intelligent risk. Eg Dance.

3. This one is very interesting. We feel as if we are entitled to have it and to have it now. Example We are entitled to an increase. We are entitled to a 13th check. There are no easy fixes in life. It’s all about hard work and determination.

4. This whole blame victim mentality. For some reason we feel as if it’s never, ever, ever, ever our fault, it’s never me, I’m never to blame. I’m going to blame someone else and I’m going to act like a victim because it’s not me.

I want you to be empowered. To be empowered we need to take ownership of who and what we blame. Start by looking inwards.

5. Create balance. We concentrate on one section of our lives. We forget that each section of our life needs our attention. It can’t just be work, work, work, work, work. It can’t just be kids, kids, kids, kids, kids. There needs to be a sense of balance throughout your life because the balance is going to give you a true sense of life and a true sense of fulfilment.
